Fusion Festival 2025: Arrival chaos expected despite construction work!
The Fusion Festival 2025 is just around the corner and promises to be the highlight of the summer on the Mecklenburg Lake District from June 25th to 29th, 2025. The former military base in Lärz will become the pulsating heart of the festival, where around 70,000 visitors are expected, many of them from Berlin and Brandenburg. From techno to rock to pop – the musical line-up is as diverse as the artists who will perform. But it's not just music that's on the program: theater performances and workshops round off the offering.
One of the biggest challenges for festival visitors will be getting there. According to [Tagesschau](https://www.tagesschau.de/inland/regional/berlin/rbb-fusion-festival-oeffnet-tore-fuer- Zehn Thousande-gaeste-100.html), the RE5 route will not be in operation on the festival weekend, which means that travelers will have to go to the S-Bahn to Oranienburg and change there to the regional train to Neustrelitz. Deutsche Bahn has already announced that despite extensive construction work on tracks and signal boxes, it should be possible to travel by train. However, this will be associated with significant disruptions, waiting times and uncertainties.
Arrival forecasts and challenges
In a further step, Deutsche Bahn stated that the RE5 regional express between Rostock, Stralsund, Neustrelitz and Oranienburg will continue to run at its usual capacity during the festival. This is positive, but traveling directly from Berlin to Lärz remains impossible. To avoid queues and overcrowding, the organizers recommend carpooling or using the paid Bassliner buses that go directly to the festival site. These solutions could be a blessing for many so that the anticipation of the event is not diminished by detours.
Although getting there is a logistical challenge, sustainability is a hot topic at major events. A study by Digital BB has shown that visitors who were informed about sustainable travel options caused 19% fewer travel emissions. Almost two thirds of the fans surveyed chose environmentally friendly means of transport such as walking, cycling or public transport. It remains to be seen how many will take up the study's suggestions in order to leave a sustainable footprint.
The anticipation is increasing
Despite the challenges of getting there, preparations for the Fusion Festival are in full swing. The organizers of Kulturkosmos Müritz have set out to create an unforgettable experience that not only inspires musically, but also on a cultural level. With a varied program complemented by workshops and other artistic performances, festival visitors could easily put the problems of getting there in the background for a moment and immerse themselves in the world of sounds and colors.
So we can only hope that attending the festival will not only be beneficial for your ears, but also for the environment. Informed travelers who make their contribution to sustainable mobility can not only enjoy the festival, but also drive home with a clear conscience. Let’s celebrate the anticipation of the Fusion Festival in Lärz under the motto “Celebrations for all the senses”!
