Chaos when traveling to the Fusion Festival: Deutsche Bahn sounds the alarm!

The Fusion Festival, a highlight for music lovers, starts tomorrow, June 26th, in Lärz on the beautiful Mecklenburg Lake District. The 26th edition attracts around 70,000 visitors every year and the anticipation is great. But what does getting to the festival look like this year? In recent years there have often been chaotic conditions, especially for travelers who wanted to travel with the RE5 regional express.

Due to necessary construction work taking place between Berlin and Oranienburg, direct travel with the RE5 is not possible this year. Instead, festival visitors have to take the S-Bahn S1 to Oranienburg and change there to the regional express, like that MAZ reported. These transfer conditions cause certain inconveniences, but Deutsche Bahn has taken measures to make the journey as smooth as possible.

Arrival with special trains

Positive news for festival visitors: Deutsche Bahn has announced that it will be using several special trains. These run three times an hour from Berlin to Oranienburg and there is also a special train every hour between Oranienburg and Neustrelitz. In view of the construction work, measures were taken at Oranienburg train station to ease the situation, so that, according to DB customer advisor Stefanie Bock, the rush has so far remained manageable.

To make travel even easier, special shuttle buses are available to take visitors directly from Neustrelitz train station to the festival site. The journey time is around 30 minutes. However, it is advisable to use the buses in good time as they are often full.

Tips for festival visitors

The organizational hurdles are indeed a challenge, but despite the uncertainties, travelers express themselves positively about the journey. Compared to previous years, the means of transport seem to be less crowded, which gives hope for a more relaxing journey. The Northern Courier However, warns that there may be longer waiting times during the festival and recommends carpooling or using the paid Bassliner buses that run to the festival site.

Getting there by train and bus isn't easy, but the anticipation of four days full of music and community makes up for it. Overall, Deutsche Bahn will use all options to get festival visitors to their destination safely and safely despite the restrictions. For the return journey, hourly special trains from Neustrelitz to Oranienburg will also be available from Sunday.

For the Fusion Festival 2025, we hope that everyone arrives on time and can enjoy the event to the fullest!

For further information on arrival, travelers should consult Deutsche Bahn's online information and always stay up to date, especially due to the ongoing construction work, which will continue after the festival until the end of July DB Regional informed.
