Construction work disturb the S-Bahn: Unusual timetables until mid-October!

Rostock, Deutschland - Rostock stands for the commuters and travelers on the S-Bahn line between Rostock Hauptbahnhof and Warnemünde. As the city administration in Rostock reports, there will be capacity restrictions on this popular connection from today. The construction work that will continue until the end of November is necessary to renew the tracks and thus ensure reliable S-Bahn operation. The S-Bahn lines S1, S2 and S3 are particularly affected, which can only drive a track due to the blocking.

From now on until July 19, a full-day 30-minute cycle applies before numerous adjustments to the timetables are made. During the entire construction work, the S-Bahn will only run from 4 a.m. to 10:15 p.m. during the day. A look at the new timetable offer shows the following:

Travelers who drive with lines S2 and S3 towards Güstrow have to change at the Rostock Central Station to get to Warnemünde. The exact departure times can be easily accessed in the VVW app.

special circumstances during the construction work

In addition to the restrictions already mentioned, the Hanse Sail, which takes place from August 7th to August, will also lead to increased public intercourse. The S-Bahn companies are increased again to cover the increased need.

The DB Regio also points out that these construction work started in the spring of this year with a full closure that lasted from March 7th to 21st. The reasons for this were the commissioning of new signals and the renewal of the course and tracks in the area of the Bramow station. During this time, many passengers had to fall back on rail replacement traffic by bus. Unfortunately, further restrictions on S-Bahn operation can also be expected in the coming months, which the city administration and the transport companies regret.

For current information on the construction work and timetable changes, travelers can use the website of [DB Regio MV] ( DB Regio MV ) or contact the customer service of the DB Regio Nordost can be reached by Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on 0385 / 750-2405.

We thank the passengers for their understanding and wish everyone a safe and pleasant journey during the construction work!
