Dramatic apartment fire in Gladbeck: Fire brigade saves forces!

On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, the district control center Recklinghausen alerted the Gladbeck fire brigade shortly before 11:30 a.m. to a fire on Helmutstrasse. The fire-fighting train of the full-time fire and rescue station as well as the fire brigade of the volunteer fire brigade hurried to the site, supported by an emergency medical vehicle and an ambulance.

When the emergency services arrived, dense smoke from a window on the 1st floor penetrated. Fortunately, there were no more people in the fire apartment because the resident could bring himself to safety. Another person was saved by a flat roof after trying in vain to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher. The apartment remains uninhabitable until further notice. There were no injuries and the police took over the cause of the fire.
