Rematec mücken: Millions of investment ensures 40 jobs!

Mügeln, Deutschland - Rematec GmbH in Mügeln plans extensive investments of several million euros to modernize their facilities. The company specializes in the recovery of industrial color and paint waste and produces around 100 tons of these waste every day, mainly from paint shops. The city council recently decided unanimously a new development plan, which serves as the basis for these investments. Plant manager Rico Doßmann assures that the modernization measures remain within the existing company area and that no spatial spread is intended.

The planned measures include the shift in the warehouse for solid fabrics on the back of the site, where they should be built in the future. In addition, a new dangerous goods hall will be built to replace the old warehouse tent. This is done in coordination with the responsible building authority. The modernization also includes wastewater treatment, which is promoted together with the water authority, since the introductory permit 2026 expires.

In connection with the processing of color and paint waste, the correct disposal of color and varnishes also plays a crucial role. Remains of such materials must not be disposed of via domestic waste because they can contain hazardous substances. These substances represent significant health and environmental risks, especially if they get into the sewage and damage the groundwater. Therefore, the correct disposal of colors and paints is of the utmost importance.

The disposal options are versatile: dried, water -based colors can be disposed of using the residual waste, while liquid color residues and old paints are part of special waste disposal. Public collection points and pollutant mobile offer free return for customary household quantities. Dealers also often have return programs for water -based, solvent -free products, which relieves the consumer.

At European level, there are also efforts to promote the circular economy, which is anchored in the action plan of the European Green Deal. The EU has published the ecodesign regulation for sustainable products, which is intended to increase the recycling of color and paint residues. The recycling proportion could increase from currently 1% to 25%, including through extended manufacturer responsibility. There are already advanced withdrawal and recycling concepts in different countries.

The planned modernization measures at Rematec not only relieve the environment, but also aim to secure 40 jobs. The desire for a new access over the old Lipsia site, which, however, requires new ownership, is another step in this direction. In the long term, a capacity expansion could also be considered, although this is currently not planned.
