School bus control: Over 50% of the vehicles in Schifferstadt complained!

Schulzentrum Schifferstadt, Deutschland - On June 3, 2025, the nationwide action day "Safe.Mobil.leben" took place under the motto "Children in the Blick", in which the Rheinpfalz police headquarters also actively participated. During a school bus control at the Schifferstadt school center, there was a worrying picture: over 50 percent of the controlled buses were defective and had to be objected to.

Equipment parts such as warning triangle, first aid material and base wedge were often missing completely or were not properly stowed in the vehicle. In a school bus, the cabling was dangerous in the passenger compartment, while in another the safety precautions such as seats and handles were not properly attached. A bus also had a torn windscreen and oil dripped. The police forces also announced that they will carry out regular controls in the future in order to keep an eye on the safety of school buses.
