Construction site chaos in Freital: Dresdner Straße will be renovated from July 7th!

From July 7th, there will be extensive asphalt rehabilitation work in Freital, more precisely on Dresdner Straße between Poisentalstrasse and Schachtstraße. As the city administration announced in its last communication, traffic in this area is severely impaired. The construction site affects two construction phases, such as Sächsische explained.

The first construction phase provides for a half -side block from Poisentalstrasse to Schachtstrasse. A lane towards Dresden remains accessible. Depirtions for traffic towards Tharandt and Possendorf are set up via the Schachtstraße and Hüttenstraße. Residents must prepare for the fact that the access roads to the Neumarkt are closed during this work. In order to ensure the accessibility of the resident shops such as Rewe, DM and the Nietzold nursery, access via the Aral petrol station and the parallel road behind the Rewe building is planned.

The second construction phase is expected to start on August 11th. In this phase, the section is processed from the height of the police to the Schachtstraße, including the intersection area. Here a lane remains accessible in both directions, but the entrances and exits to the shaft road must be blocked. The detour continues to take place via Hüttenstraße. The total cost of this project amounts to around 515,000 euros, which the city administration is planning well to get the street infrastructure back into shape.

The completion of the construction work is planned for September 5, 2025. Interestingly, the coverage renewal of Dresdner Straße has been carried out in sections since 2019. The last renovation in the affected area took place in the 1990s, which underlines the urgency of this measure. The current lane ceiling has numerous damage: it is worn out, open and shows trace formation and crack formation.
