Brandenburg's schools: 300 million euros more, but teaching positions are missing!

Brandenburg an der Havel, Deutschland - The Brandenburg government has announced far -reaching measures to improve the educational situation in the country. As part of the planned double budget, 300 million euros are also provided for education annually. These investments are intended to respond to the urgently needed digitization of schools and contain projects such as the digital pact school 2.0 and the provision of state licenses for learning software, such as RBB24 reported.

The state government's commitment also extends to promoting democracy education and the youth area. Despite these positive progress, however, 345 full -time positions for teachers and pedagogical staff are gone. This is reinforced by a reduced budget of 50 million euros for the salaries of teachers. In order to counteract the effects of these cuts, 14 million euros were planned for representative teachers.

expectations and challenges

For the coming school year, an increase of around 3,000 pupils will be expected, which also tenses the situation in schools. According to reports, the elimination of full -time positions will also endanger the implementation of additional offers, such as choirs and working groups. In this tense situation, an additional lesson per week should be mandatory for teachers from February 2026 in order to avoid school hours and thus learning losses. However, this measure will also increase the workload of the teachers.

parents and educational experts already express concerns about the possible negative effects on educational success. School offices also have the option of temporarily falling below guidelines for personnel equipment, which in practice could lead to the elimination of childcare hours for children in need of support.

Reduction of childcare offers

An example from Brandenburg an der Havel shows the challenges in concrete terms: At a comprehensive school there, the representation reserve drops from 13 to 10 hours a week. Hours for "joint learning" are also reduced by 20 percent, from 93 to 75 hours a week, which endangers the inclusive offers. To a similar extent, a decline of almost 10 percent is recorded in all -day care, which leads to a further burden on the existing resources.

The situation is serious for schools: the balancing act between necessary investments and the cuts in the personnel area is a serious problem that affects both teachers and students. The challenges of digitization, which are to be addressed by the funds provided, also affect the human -centered aspects of educational work.
