CSU visit in Auschwitz: reminder for the present and future
The CSU parliamentary group visitedAs part of a multi-day trip, the CSU parliamentary group visited Poland on May 26, 2025, whereby the visit to the visit to the former concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau took place. Group leader Klaus Holetschek and Prime Minister Markus Söder were deeply affected in view of the historical site. Holetschek emphasized the importance of Auschwitz as a symbol for the darkest chapter in German history, characterized by millions of mass murder and state -organized terror. On the occasion of this visit, he formulated an urgent reminder: "Something like this should never be repeated".
Söder explained that the visit had shaken him sustainably. He spoke of the atrocities that people suffered due to their differences. This makes it clear that the sentence "never" has to be a daily commitment to combat the inhuman ideologies in society. This promise of protection also included a clear rejection of anti -Semitism and racism, which are just as present in current discussions as in the past. The memory of Auschwitz is intended to serve as a warning for current and future generations, such as PNP.de
commemoration of the victims of National Socialism
On January 27, the victim of National Socialism is commemorated annually. Before the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, Beate Rudolf, director of the German Institute for Human Rights, commented on the ongoing relevance of this commemoration. Her statements made it clear that the memory of all victims - including Jews, Sinti and Roma as well as other social outsiders - is a responsibility for the state and society in Germany. In particular, it is pointed out to systematic disenfranchisement and persecution during the Nazi era, as in the reports of Institute for Human Rights is emphasized.
The connection between memory and active commitment is therefore essential to meet the victims of National Socialism and to fight every form of hatred and discrimination. The voices and stories of the survivors and the victims not only have to be heard, but also incorporated into the training of the coming generations in order to keep the teachings of history alive.
