Dahner elementary school students were recorded for children's projects!

At the beginning of May the time had come again: The students of the Dahn primary school took part in the sponsored walk of the school center and were able to play a record sum. Headmaster André Wünstel proudly announced that a total of 8,512 euros were collected by the use of the children. This corresponds to an increase of 1,200 euros compared to the previous year.

The donations were evenly distributed to two important projects. On the one hand, part of the sum flows to the Pact for Pirmasens , a volunteer network that organizes various offers for children, including sports, creative design and driving services. This part of the donation is used to provide a healthy breakfast in Pirmasens.

Support for projects in Africa

The other half of the donations goes to the “Aktion Africa” initiative, which supports schools in Kenya and Tanzania. This includes sponsorships, medical help and food procurement. Thanks to the Libelle donation, four parentless children can now go to school in these countries.

As part of the Sponsored Walk, special appreciation for the best runners were given. Two wood carvings from Africa with the motto "Hakuna Matata" were presented by Franz-Josef Schächter. In addition, all hard -working runners received two balls of ice cream.

The students and classes performed differently: Class 3c was the highest amount with 1,075 euros, followed by class 3a with 959 euros and class 1b, which collected 880 euros. In order to visibly appreciate the children's performance, there are two wooden giraffes at school that serve as challenge cups for the best runners.

Together for success

At the end of the event, all students sang the school anthem "We are from the elementary school’ Dahn "and thus not only celebrated the success of the Walk, but also the community of the school center. The active participation of parents and legal guardians is an essential part of the Pacts for Pirmasens that helps to implement projects.

The pact follows the motto "We provide help for self -help" and actively brings families to the projects. The support aims to improve the perspectives for children from socially disadvantaged conditions. This promotes close cooperation between everyone involved and everyone can contribute to the positive development of children in the Pirmasens area.
