TU Clausthal secures millions of support for German-Ukrainian project!
Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Deutschland - The Technical University of Clausthal has successfully promoted funding for the DAAD project "German-Ukrainian University Network" (Duhn). This important project aims to strengthen the university cooperations between Germany and Ukraine. At the center of the project is a joint double closing program in the master's degree in electrical engineering and information technology, which is developed in cooperation with the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" (KPI) in Kiev. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) promotes the project with around 766,000 euros, which opens up new perspectives in international and digital teaching and research.
A registration of students at the KPI in Kiev is planned for the winter semester 2026, followed by a one -year study stay at the TU Clausthal. Another central element of the project is the development of an open digital learning platform that conveys content at the interface of automation and artificial intelligence. The platform is intended to network laboratories and the formation of common research teams. The funding is used for study visits, research and teaching stays as well as for German courses for students at KPI and modern laboratory equipment in Kiev.
intensification of scientific exchange
The funding program also includes the organization of summer schools and joint workshops that are intended to intensify the scientific exchange. These initiatives are part of the more comprehensive efforts of the DAAD to expand academic cooperation between German and Ukrainian universities and thus make a significant contribution to promoting the Ukrainian university sector. According to the DAAD, a total of 29 cooperation projects of German universities were selected as part of this program for four years of funding, which are financed with a total of 24 million euros by 2029
The promotion of the program, which begins in July 2023, takes place by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and brings 47 Ukrainian universities together with the German partner universities. The selection includes renowned institutions such as the Technical University of Clausthal and numerous other universities.
Integration of innovative digital instruments
In the context of these developments, the DAAD funding program IMKD is gaining in importance, which supports universities in the digital accompaniment of the student Journey. The aim is to integrate innovative digital instruments into teaching and administration in order to develop new forms of exchange and digitally map them. The program promotes new mobility formats that combine physical mobility with virtual cooperation options and is financed by the BMBF. It was an important instrument to promote the internationalization of universities and use digital elements in a targeted manner.
summarized the DAAD project "German-Ukrainian University Network" is an elementary component of the current efforts to reform international university formation and integrate Ukraine into the European university area. The continuous cooperation between the universities offers opportunities for students and scientists on both sides to expand their perspectives and to develop innovative research approaches.
