137 Raser on Monheim's streets: Police sets speed record!

On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, the Mettmann police service on Monheimer Strasse carried out a speed control as part of the "Safe.leben.mobil - Kinder AM" campaign. A total of 1760 vehicles were measured between 7:40 a.m. and 1 p.m. The gratifying balance: the majority adhered to the permitted top speed of 30 km/h. Nevertheless, 137 drivers were traveling too quickly. A VW driver particularly stood out because he raced 30 km/h above the limit-an uninvited leader!

These unannounced controls are part of a new police strategy in order to put more pressure on speed. In contrast to earlier years in which locations of controls were announced in advance, the police now remain hidden to ensure higher traffic safety.
