Alcohol and drugs at the wheel: traffic safety in danger!

Rostock, Deutschland - increasing numbers of trips under drugs and alcohol-that is the alarming reality in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania! Current statistics show that 2024 alcohol consumption ranks 4th of the most common causes of accidents, only slightly improved compared to the previous year. With 3,980 alcohol violations and 1,997 drug offenses, the trend is only down, but the risk situation is probably even more dramatic than stated due to the high number of unreported cases. Cyclists and e-scooter drivers are also increasingly intoxicating, which makes the streets even more dangerous.

The new legislation for cannabis legalization has been shocking since April 2024: THC limit values are 3.5 ng/ml, and driving under mixing consumption is strictly prohibited-fines can be up to 5,000 euros! The police decide against these risks - in June 2025, nationwide controls are on the plan to avoid accidents and pursue the “Vision Zero” goal, so zero traffic fatalities. Security in the streets has top priority!
