On Wednesday afternoon, around 3:30 p.m., a dramatic traffic accident occurred in Mühlenstrasse. An 88-year-old driver lost control of his Mercedes, got off the street for unexplained reasons, raced over the railway tracks and finally got stuck in a hedge.

Both the driver and his passenger suffered serious injuries and were immediately taken to a nearby hospital. The exact circumstances of the accident as well as the damage caused by the property are currently unclear and are further investigated by the investigators of the Offenburg Transport Service. The rescue measures and the accident recording are still underway.
