In a shocking fraud in Nottuln, two supposed PayPal employees cheated on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, a couple. The fraudsters, who spoke poorly German and agree on a translation app, claimed that there had been an unspecified transaction. During the call, they received access to the couple's computer to underpin their wrong allegations.

In order to counter an alleged hacker attack, the perpetrators asked the couple to make a payment to a foreign account. The couple followed this instruction, but remains unclear whether they have succeeded in bringing the money back after they developed doubts about the situation. The police urgently warns of granting unknown callers access to personal data or devices and recommends that you put the listener immediately when doubts and to contact official hotlines.
