Fraudsters in Freiburg: Carpet dealers steal jewelry from older lady

In a shocking incident in Freiburg, an 88-year-old woman was stolen from two supposed carpet dealers on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. The two men had announced themselves by phone and outwort the elderly in her own apartment under the pretext of treating moth infestation. As they supposedly cleaned carpets, they took the opportunity to steal valuables.

After the older lady noticed the theft, she immediately alerted the police. The first suspect is about 50 years old, 1.60 m tall, described with black hair and full beard and spoke German with accent. His accomplice, also about 20 years old and 1.60 m tall, had a beard and spoke German without accent. The Freiburg-Süd police have started investigations because there are indications that the two men also tried to get access to other apartments in the East of Freiburg. Witnesses are urgently asked to report!
