On Wednesday, June 5, a 76-year-old senior citizen was victim of brazen fraudsters in her home in Mönchengladbach! Two men who spoke as telecommunications employees crept in the apartment of the unsuspecting woman under the pretext of having to test the fiber optic network in the basement. Around 40 minutes later they left the apartment and not only left a bad feeling, but also a hole in the pensioner's wallet.

When the senior later found that valuable jewelry and cash were missing, the police raised the alarm. Mönchengladbach's police warns: don't let any strangers in your apartment, not even if you pretend to be a craftsman or service provider. Check the identity of the visitors or consider to invite you again at a later date, which can be considered safer!
