Armed robbery in Gotha: 25-year-old arrested!

On Thursday evening, March 20, 2025, a petrol station in the Puschkinallee in Gotha was the goal of an armed robbery. A masked perpetrator entered around 9:30 p.m. and threatened the cashier with a firearm to blackmail around 1,000 euros before he fled in an unknown direction. This incident follows a similar attack on a petrol station in Eschleber Straße on February 17th, in which an unmasked perpetrator with a carpet knife threatened the cashiers.

Thanks to intensive investigations by the Gotha state police inspection, an urgent suspicion of a 25-year-old Syrian could already be raised, who was again striking due to the robbery in December 2024. The suspect was arrested in Gotha on the same day when he left an apartment building. During the search of his apartment, the murder weapon and other evidence were ensured, which also connects it with the attack on Eschleber Straße. The judge ordered the pre -trial detention on March 22nd.
