Fire in the basement of Schwerin apartment building: four injuries!

In a dramatic incident in Schwerin, Brandenburg, broke out a fire in the basement of an apartment building in Bäckerstrasse at around 10:30 p.m. on the evening of June 10, 2025. The fire brigade was alerted immediately and arrived quickly, with the smoke already reaching the street. The firefighters did everything they can to extinguish the flames, which they did.

Four residents aged 12, 30, 37 and 64 suffered minor injuries from flue gas, and two of these people had to be taken to the hospital for further treatment. However, the apartments of the house remain habitable. The criminal police have started the investigation and issued a criminal complaint about suspected serious arson. The property damage incurred is estimated at around 11,000 euros.
