Federal Police: Schleuser and men sought -after men arrested at the border crossing

The federal police arrested a suspected smuggler at the Mittenwald - Scharnitz border crossing on Saturday, which apparently tried to illegally bring several Nordmacedonians across the border. A Russian and a Slovak citizen were also arrested in the control of an Italian -approved vehicle. While the 50-year-old North Macedonian driver was able to identify himself with valid papers, his three fellow travelers had no necessary entry documents and were rejected to Austria. The driver received a criminal complaint for interrogating foreigners.

A 59-year-old Russian who drove in a German car was also arrested. He is sought by the Italian authorities for various ownership offenses and was brought to the Munich-Stadelheim correctional facility on a judicial order to ensure delivery. The border controls once again showed how efficient the federal police are taking to illegal entry and crime at the borders.
