Drama in the Rurtal: Designed railway ensures large -scale use of the fire brigade!

In a dramatic incident in the Rurtal, there was a train accident in the early morning. A train of a private operator was on the way from Heimbach to Düren when a fallen tree fell across the tracks at 07:04 a.m. and brought the train to the derail. Around 60 to 70 passengers were directly affected, who had to endure on the train, while emergency services and fire brigade coordinated.

The fire brigade and the emergency services carried out a viewing of the passengers in order to identify possible injuries. An evacuation train was organized from Düren and transported to the scene of the accident with a draisine material. The emergency services placed several ladders between the trains to enable the passengers to switch safe. Around 30 emergency services were on site to cope with the situation and evacuate passengers.
