On Saturday afternoon, a devastating fire broke out in a barn with an adjacent vacant residential building in Filderstadt-Sielmingen. The alarm took place at 4.30 p.m., several callers reported the blazing fire, which was already flames and smoke from the roof structure of the building. The fire brigade, emergency services and police moved in with 13 vehicles and 63 emergency services to combat the fire. Thanks to its quick intervention, the fire could be prevented, nobody was injured.

The enormous amounts of smoke led to security measures for the surrounding residents who were asked to keep windows and doors closed. The affected building is now uninhabitable and in parts is considered to be in danger of collapse, which is why a construction consultant of the THW has been added. The preliminary damage amounts to several hundred thousand euros. While the post -extinguishing work continued until the evening, the electricity in the fire area was temporarily switched off. The main street in Sielmingen was released again at 6.45 p.m., but the police investigation into the cause of the fire are still in progress.
