Drama in Gladbeck: Fire brigade saves man from a height of 12 meters!

On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, the Gladbeck fire brigade was called for a dramatic accident at work in Ellinghorst. In a work for concrete parts, an employee was trapped at a height of about 12 meters when he captured between the basket of a lifting stage and a loading crane. The fire brigade had to act quickly to stabilize the lifting stage and remove several parts of the crane to free the injured worker.

After the liberation, the patient was immediately handed over to the emergency services and admitted to the shock room of a clinic in Gelsenkirchen. A requested rescue helicopter was no longer used. In addition to the full -time forces of the Gladbeck fire brigade, a emergency doctor from Bottrop as well as the height rescue group of the Recklinghausen district and the Löschzug Nord of the Gladbeck volunteer fire brigade were also in use.
