Drugs and frenzy: Civil patrol stops illegal races in Reutlingen
Karlstraße, 72760 Reutlingen, Deutschland - Two young drivers are targeted by the police after they were caught in a suspected illegal race in Reutlingen. Around 8:50 p.m., the driver of an Alfa Romeo and that of a BMW accelerated to 85 km/h in red light, although only 40 km/h were allowed. After further risky maneuvers, the authorities were finally able to stop the Alfa Romeo in Metzingen. The 24-year-old driver was apparently under the influence of drugs and had to hand in a blood sample while his driver's license was drawn in. The 22-year-old who drove the BMW has now been identified.
In a separate incident, a 32-year-old driver injured a cyclist on Monday when she opened her door without paying attention to the traffic. The 27-year-old Pedelec driver could not avoid and crashed into the door. Fortunately, he only suffered minor injuries. A third traffic accident occurred in Bernloch, where a 19-year-old Ford driver disregarded the right of BMW, which led to a collision and two occupants were injured. A towing service had to pay the damage, while the federal road remained closed for several hours.
