E-scooter fire in Mannheim: residents save staircases from worse!

In the night from Sunday to Monday, around 11:40 p.m., an e-scooter became the Brandquelle in the stairwell of an apartment building in Bahnhofstrasse. The scooter, which was parked there, caught fire due to a technical defect - a dangerous Situation that required immediate measures. Local residents noticed the flames and acted quickly: they carried the burning scooter out of the building and deleted the fire.

The fire brigade immediately moved, secured the lithium battery and left it in a water container for further control. After the rescue workers were deployed, the stairwell was thoroughly cleaned and ventilated, so that the residents could soon return to their apartments. Fortunately, there were no injuries, but the incident shows how quickly such a situation can get out of control!
