Erfurt, Deutschland - A 47-year-old Erfurt has become the victim of a brazen fraud and has lost over 17,000 euros. On Thursday morning he received a call from a supposed bank employee who told him about alleged irregularities on his account. Under the pressure to transfer his money to a "security account", the man authorized several transfers and even changed his access data.

The Erfurt police have now initiated investigations into fraud after the injured party filed a complaint on Saturday afternoon. It is urgently warned: real bank employees never ask for transfer or to disclose access data on the phone. If in doubt, you should end the conversation immediately and contact the bank directly via official contact details.
