First political tour: Motorcyclists experience safety up close!

On Sunday, the first Politour 2025 of the Emsland/Grafschaft Bentheim police inspection rocked! With over 120 motorcyclists who had traveled from all over the region, the event was a complete success. When the weather has been growing, the groups at six different locations - including Nordhorn, Lingen and Bad Bentheim - set themselves in motion on an exciting route of around 210 kilometers until the final event in Spelle.

The participants experienced a variety of informative stations. In Lingen, Denis Hertrampf explained how the correct chassis setting optimized driving behavior, while Andreas Hempen in Bad Bentheim performed the functioning of a motorcycle airbag. A demonstration of the German Red Cross in Nordhorn was particularly exciting, which showed how to safely decrease a motorcycle helmet after an accident. In addition, police experts in Ibbenbüren sensitized the participants for the dangers of alcohol and drugs in traffic, while in Neuenkirchen the speed measurement could be experienced up close. The day ended with intensive driving exercises in Spelle, which offered motorcyclists practical safety training. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive - the participants praised the high level of information and the collegial atmosphere throughout the tour.
