The first groundbreaking in Wardenburg: THW modernized accommodations for volunteers!
in Wardenburg in Lower Saxony fell on Monday, May 26th, the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony for the nationwide construction program of the technical relief organization (THW). In Wardenburg, a location among 200 THW local associations, the accommodations of which are no longer sufficient for modern requirements, new accommodation is now being built. This project, initiated by the former Federal Ministry of the Interior, is part of a comprehensive plan to renew at least 30 THW locations in order to cover the space requirement for growing technical equipment and emergency services.
The new editing promises effective, cost -saving solutions with a uniform concept that is intended to enable faster construction times. THW President Sabine Lackner underlined the need for modern premises for timely and resilient civil protection. Numerous guests, including the parliamentary State Secretary Dennis Rohde, honored the groundbreaking ceremony, which is the starting point for the new, barrier -free and environmentally friendly buildings. The new buildings should not only offer more space, but also strengthen the usability of the approximately 88,000 volunteers of the THW.
