Bicycle accident in Essen: 82-year-old dies on Norbertstraße after falling

A tragic incident in Essen: An 82-year-old pedelecist crashed on Norbertstrasse on May 11 and suffered life-threatening injuries. The senior died five days later, on May 15, in the hospital.

The exact course of the accident remains unclear. The cyclist was on the way in the direction of travel when he might get stuck on the curb when he passed a barrier fence with his rear tire and fell. An autopsy now confirmed that he died of the consequences of the accident. He is the first fatalities in Essen this year.
