Wrong police officers in Haldensleben: 89-year-old loses five-digit sum!

An 89-year-old man from Haldensleben again fell victim to a brazen fraud, in which perpetrators spoke out as false police officers. On Tuesday evening he received a call from an alleged police officer who had him in front of a planned burglary and told him that his cash in the home was no longer safe. In order to clear out his doubts, he was asked to choose the emergency call 110.

The old gentleman did so and once again spoke to a supposed police officer who assured him that a colleague would come by right away to pick up the money. This also happened - the fraudster, described as very large with glasses and full beard, was left into the house and escaped with an average five -digit amount from the victim's safe. The police urgently warn: Neither the police nor the public prosecutor will ever ask for cash or valuables! Never release personal information and do not leave any strangers to your apartment!
