A senior citizen in Coesfeld was the victim of a brazen fraud on Tuesday. A false bank employee contacted the 70-year-old by phone and connected her to a supposed police officer. Set under pressure, she handed over her EC card and pin to a young man at her front door around noon. The robbers immediately used the card to withdraw cash and make purchases.

The police are now looking for the perpetrator, who is about 17 to 18 years old. She urgently warns of such fraud stitches: don't let anyone in your house if there is no appointment and never pass on personal data or access data to your online banking.
