Fire in the inn: The fire brigade in Schweiburg!

On Wednesday, May 29, 2025, at around 3:10 p.m., a fire broke out in a former inn on Kirchenstrasse in Schweiburg, which currently serves as accommodation for refugees. Fortunately, all seven residents were able to flee out of the building unharmed. Around 80 emergency services of the surrounding voluntary fire departments prevented the flames from spreading over the entire complex. However, a side cultivation was badly damaged, with an estimated property damage of over 100,000 euros.

After the risk of collapse by the danger defense authority, the building was immediately demolished by a commissioned company in order to avoid further risks. Based on these measures, the B 437 was blocked in the Schweiburg passage at 2:10 p.m. The police have started the cause of the fire, and external influence is excluded. The around 20 affected residents are now relocated to other accommodations by the municipality of Jade.
