Fire in underground car park: drama and injured downtown Düsseldorf!

On Friday, June 6, 2025, a car broke out in flames in an underground car park on Worringer Strasse in Düsseldorf. At 5:43 p.m., residents alerted the fire brigade when dense swaths of smoke climbed out of the basement. Firep forces and emergency services quickly raced to the site, where they immediately recorded the situation and started the extinguishing work.

In the underground car park, three vehicles were affected, but thanks to the rapid intervention, the fire could be prevented from spreading to adjacent buildings. A total of twelve residents were examined for smoke poisoning, one had to be taken to the hospital for further treatment. After about three and a half hours, the last forces used by around 90 were back at their locations. The criminal police have taken over the investigation into the cause of the fire.
