Fire alarm in the Marienkrankenhaus: patient lights up paper handkerchiefs!

On Tuesday evening, the fire brigade and police were called to the Marienkrankenhaus at 8:45 p.m. after the fire alarm system raised the alarm in a patient room. A 70-year-old patient who was apparently in a mental state of emergency had lit paper handkerchiefs on a table. Speed was asked: an attentive employee hurried into the room and was able to extinguish the fire with a water bottle before the fire brigade arrived.

The patient, who was alone in the room, suffered smoke intoxication according to the initial knowledge and immediately received medical treatment. Fortunately, there was no building damage. A dramatic evening that once again shows how important fast reactions are in critical situations!
