Fire drama in Celle: tragic apartment fire demands a life

On Pentecost Sunday, at 1:57 p.m., the Celle fire brigade was called to a dramatic fire on the Alten Bremer Weg. Dense swaths of smoke struck over the windows and the roof structure when the emergency services arrived. Immediately a respiratory protection team searched for a missing person in the attic.

The situation was dangerous, but the fire brigade was able to quickly control the fire with a C-pipe. When looking for the missing person, the squad unfortunately found a deceased person in the apartment. Around 60 committed forces from the Celle fire brigade as well as the police, emergency services and emergency pastoral care were in action to cope with the situation. The fire brigade and the entire community shaked this tragic incident.
