On Thursday afternoon, May 29, 2025, broke in an apartment building in Lübeck-St. Lorenz Süd a devastating fire. A 72-year-old man suffered minor injuries, but the situation escalated when a 30-year-old drew serious injuries while jumping out of a window. The deployment for the fire brigade ended tragically, who found a lifeless person in the building in the evening. The man has now been identified while the investigation into the cause of the fire continues.

In order to increase the safety precautions and to support the fire investigators in their work, the strongly damaged building will be stabilized by the technical relief organization in the coming days. Experts from the Lübeck Criminal Police and the State Criminal Police Office are on duty to enter the area safely and to clarify the causes of the horrific incident.
