Unterlengenhardt, Deutschland - A spectacular lightning strike triggered a dangerous smoldering fire in a single -family house on Wednesday morning in Unterlengenhardt! The homeowners noticed the alarm of their smoke detector and quickly discovered that the ceiling on the upper floor was damaged and the smell of fire blew through the air. They immediately alerted the fire brigade, which came up with 30 emergency services and six vehicles, supported by the Schömberg fire brigade with a turntable ladder and another 20 fire protection forces.
Fortunately, the emergency services were able to act quickly. They opened the roof to identify the cause of the fire, while a squad entered the house under respiratory protection. It turned out that an electrical line had braised in the roof structure. Thanks to rapid measures, greater damage was avoided. The fire brigade also fought against the fire, which was further fueled by wood shavings that were between roof tiles and the ceiling.A fireman injured himself during the mission, and a little later another person near the place of work was passed out. Both were taken to a hospital. The dangerous use ended around 11:30 a.m. after the flames were brought under control.
