In the night of June 2, 2025, around 3:45 a.m., the police were alerted in Jever when a resident was woken up by a loud bang. He discovered a burning vehicle in Kiebitzstraße, the engine compartment of which was on fire. The fire brigade was quickly on site and deleted the fire, luckily nobody was harmed.

After a thorough examination by a car expert carried out by the Oldenburg public prosecutor's office, it is clear: A technical defect can be excluded as a cause of the fire. Instead, there is serious information about intentional arson! The Jever police are asking the population for help and looking for witnesses who have observed suspicious activities in the area of ​​Kiebitzstraße in the night from June 1st or can provide information on the possible perpetrators.
