Bahnhofsvorplatz, 70806 Kornwestheim, Deutschland - On Saturday afternoon, around 3:48 p.m., the integrated control center of the Ludwigsburg district was informed about several emergency calls that Rauch was rising from an underground car park at the station forecourt. A lighting car parked on the second level caught fire for a previously unknown cause and caused a strong smoke output. The station forecourt and the adjacent shops then had to be closed for about three hours, but it remained unproblematic - nobody was injured.

The fire brigade Kornwestheim and Ludwigsburg were in action and were able to give the all -clear after ventilation of the affected buildings. The underground car park was released again after a review by a structural engineer. The burned -out vehicle has been completely destroyed, the investigation into the cause of the fire is still in progress, and information about the amount of damage is still pending. Train traffic remained unaffected by the incident.
