Fire risk in Solingen: Police save residents from flammable house!

In the early morning hours of May 31, 2025, a striking smell in the stairwell of an apartment building on Schützenstrasse alerted the police in Solingen. The concerned residents reported the situation, and in order to exclude possible dangers from flammable substances, the fire brigade was called for support. As a security measure, the tenants were temporarily accommodated in buses.

A 51-year-old resident could not be achieved during the mission, which led to a dramatic decision: Special forces opened his apartment to ensure that nothing was happening to him. Fortunately, he was found unharmed. The shooting road had to be blocked during the entire mission, while the criminal police started the investigation into the origin of the smell.
