Chemical album in Langenzenn: Post employees get sick!

On Friday morning (June 6th, 2025), several employees of a post distribution center in Langenzenn were hospitalized with acute health problems. Around 15 people suffered from severe itching and skin irritation, while four further breathing problems and eye irritation reported. Fortunately, all those affected could be released later.

An extensive use of the police, fire brigade and emergency services quickly found the cause of the complaints: A secured white powder turned out to be an acetone -based solvent, which triggered the symptoms during contact. The removal and examination of the substance was carried out under the direction of the US Army (Ansbach Fire Rescue), supported by numerous fire brigade units and the technical relief organization. The Zirndorf police inspection now leads the investigation into the origin of the dangerous substance.
