In the early morning hours of June 6, 2025, a devastating fire was reported in a building on Pirnaer Landstrasse in Leuben. The roof structure of the front house burned out, and the fire brigade intensified the extinguishing work with impressive technology: two turning pipes via turntable ladders, a water cannon and several manual jet pipes were used. The water supply was ensured by the urban hydrant network and double hose lines from a nearby gravel pit.

At 5:30 a.m. the fire brigade reported "fire", but the entire building was completely burned out. The auditorium in the back has collapsed, which unfortunately makes access to dangerous areas impossible. Deleting work is still required because embers, especially under the roof skin, are visible. The fire brigade is supported by special technology from the technical relief organization. However, the warning to the population has been canceled because the smoke development is now significantly weaker. Further information can be expected shortly.
