Drama on the Reeperbahn: Fire in Hotel - one person dead!

On the night of Monday, a devastating fire broke out in the hotel on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg St. Pauli. The fire brigade was alerted at 10:08 p.m. after several concerned passers -by reported that there were still people in the rooms. The emergency services of the Hamburg fire brigade, consisting of a professional and volunteer fire brigade, immediately moved to and discovered smoke and flames from a room on the 2nd floor. Dramatic scenes took place when eleven people were brought to safety through ladders.

A total of around 75 firefighters and other rescue workers were deployed. While 29 people were medical care, but did not suffer any injuries, the emergency services unfortunately discovered a dead person in the fire apartment. Thanks to the courageous intervention, the fire could be deleted with three jet pipes and spreading to adjacent areas was prevented. After the extinguishing work, extensive ventilation measures followed to secure the building complex. The entire spectacle lasted around three hours.
