Fire in Lübeck apartment building: two injured and large extinguishing action!
In a dramatic incident, a devastating fire broke out in an apartment building in the St. Lorenz Süd district of Lübeck in the early afternoon of May 29. The fire brigade and police were alerted around 1:40 p.m. after witnesses reported a blazing fire in the roof structure of the two -storey building. The flames spread at lightning speed and led to severe smoke development, which subsequently resulted in road closures for the fight against causes.
Two residents were injured in the fire, while a large contingent of the fire brigade and the police was on site to master the situation. The adjacent houses were evacuated and many affected residents were temporarily accommodated by relatives. The municipal regulatory service of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck is also active and takes care of emergency accommodation for the evacuated. No information can be given on the cause of the fire, the extinguishing work is still ongoing.
