On Tuesday afternoon, May 27, 2025, a devastating fire broke out in an allotment garden in Steinstrasse in Gera. The fire brigade was alerted at 1:45 p.m. when the gazebo of an 81-year-old tenant suddenly went up in flames. The cause of the fire is currently still unknown, but the flames devastated the arbor completely and also damaged two neighboring parcels.
