Fire drama in Lübeck: Serious injuries to the big fire in residential building

On Thursday, May 29, 2025, at around 1:42 p.m. in an apartment building in the St. Lorenz Süd district of Lübeck, a devastating fire. When the fire brigade arrived, the apartment on the 2nd floor was already on fire. The leap from a person out of the apartment who was seriously injured. Another resident was able to flee outdoors, but suffered minor injuries.

over 110 firefighters, including units of volunteer fire brigades, were deployed to prevent the fire from attacking neighboring apartments and the roof structure. Several turntable ladders and respiratory protection teams were used. A warning was published to residents to draw attention to dangerous smoke development. The fire brigade currently has the fire under control, but the location on site is still tense because the building cannot be entered due to the considerable damage. The fire brigade expects the use to last until late in the evening.
