Gas alarm in Frankenthal: Fire brigade evacuates residents from dangerous zone!
On Thursday evening, June 5, 2025, the Frankenthal fire department at Wormser Straße 112 was alerted due to a questionable "lazy smell". The alarmed insert quickly stated that dangerous natural gas flows here! The emergency services immediately took measures and evacuated the residents of the surrounding buildings to ensure their security.
In order to reduce the explosive natural gas concentration in the basement, firefighters fought with a ventilation device. But the conditions were challenging; Many rooms were without external access, which made air circulation difficult. After two and a half hours of use, the cause was finally found - the leak was in the ground, not in the buildings. Stadtwerke Frankenthal intervened and commissioned a civil engineering company for repair.
Fortunately, no one was injured in this assignment, and the fire brigade continued to ensure fire protection. While the Wormser Straße was closed to the Nordring intersection and the traffic was diverted, the quick -use group of care ensured the evacuated residents.
