Great fire in Frankenthal: Fire brigade saves residents from high -rise!

On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, a strong smoke development in a high-rise building on Hans-Fay-Straße alerted the Frankenthal fire brigade at 1:10 p.m. The alarm level was quickly increased to "building fire" when the emergency services already saw the dense smoke during the journey. A fire that had broken out on a balcony on the 8th floor was continued to work through strong wind conditions and spread quickly.

The fire brigade carried out both an interior and an outdoor attack using aerial ladder and was able to fight the fire quickly. Nevertheless, the corridors on the fire floor and on adjacent floors were heavily smoky, which is why several residents had to be brought to safety. A total of four people with minor injuries were found. A large contingent of emergency services was on site, including the German Red Cross and the Ludwigshafen professional fire brigade. The municipal utilities separated the affected apartment from the power grid, while the technical relief organization repaired a violent apartment door. A total of 42 firefighters and 44 rescue workers were deployed.
