Great fire in Ostereistedt: warehouse Lichterloh on flames!

In the early morning of today, around 6:45 a.m., the fire brigade was alerted to a devastating major fire in the village of Schohöfen near Ostereistedt. A massive warehouse of 1,500 square meters of area was already in full fire when the first emergency services arrived. In the building, large quantities of wood chips, straw bales and agricultural machines, which quickly heated up the fire and let a huge cloud of smoke rise.

Supported by the Bundeswehr from Seedorf, which provided a tanker, the emergency services fought against the flames. A local building contractor helped with an excavator to make the ruin accessible from the outside so that the last embers could be deleted. Thanks to the quick intervention, a spread of the fire to neighboring buildings could be successfully prevented. While the post -extinguishing work continued until the afternoon, the DRK provided the emergency services with drinks and meals. Fortunately, no people were injured, the cause of the fire is currently being examined by the police. Residents are asked to avoid the area far.
