The fire brigade's large -scale deployment: Fire in apartment building in Alkenrath

Alkenrather Straße, 42799 Leverkusen, Deutschland - on June 4, 2025, around 8:28 p.m., the Leverkusen fire brigade was alerted to a fire in an apartment building on Alkenrather Strasse. A caller reported smoke from the 3rd floor. Human lives were in danger because residents drew attention to themselves. The fire brigade and volunteer fire brigades from Bürrig, Schlebusch and Steinbüchel were immediately mobilized.

Around 70 firefighters were on site and made extreme efforts, while 20 more forces secured basic protection in the city. During the rescue measures, Alkenrather Straße was blocked in both directions in order to have the emergency services act unhindered. The fire brigade handed over the site to the police after successful fire fighting.
